How to install

  1. 1Download the x64 .msi installer (or ARM64 for Snapdragon laptops).
  2. 2Double-click the .msi and follow the setup wizard. The installer is code-signed by the publisher.
  3. 3Launch WordCraft from the Start menu. Prefer no install? Unzip the portable .zip and run wordcraft.exe.

macOS

How to install

  1. 1Download the universal .dmg. It runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel.
  2. 2Open the .dmg and drag WordCraft into your Applications folder.
  3. 3Launch it from Applications. If macOS warns about the app, Control-click it and choose Open, or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

How to install

  1. 1AppImage (any distro): make it executable, then run it.
  2. 2Debian / Ubuntu: install the .deb with apt.
  3. 3Fedora / openSUSE: install the .rpm; or use the Flatpak bundle.

Troubleshooting

Windows: the app flashes and closes

WordCraft uses DirectX 12 by default. Some graphics drivers crash on start; try the Vulkan backend from PowerShell in the app folder:

Remove-Item Env:WGPU_BACKEND

Windows: slow on an older PC

If your graphics card has no DirectX 12 driver, Windows falls back to software rendering. Update your graphics driver, or use the online version in a modern browser.

Where are the logs for a bug report?

Windows: %APPDATA%\WordCraft\logs\ · macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/WordCraft/logs/ · Linux: ~/.config/wordcraft/logs/. Attach wordcraft.log when you report a bug on GitHub or Discord.

Build from source

Developers can build WordCraft with Rust 1.90 or newer:
